Today is National Scrapbook Day…..

and if it were up to me I would declare it a national holiday giving me a day off from work, hang up a “Kitchen is Closed” sign and lock myself in my studio to blissfully scrap away. But….sadly I still have to work, and a few loads of laundry are anxiously waiting to take a ride in the washer, and if I don’t get a mop to my kitchen floor soon I might have to use my bottle of Undo to pry my Yorkie’s feet off the floor! So tomorrow after my housework is done I am going to sneak away to my studio and declare it to be my own National Scrapbooking Day. Unfinished albums…here I come!

Snow days…

This week my little part of the world was blanketed with a layer of ice and snow. We were lucky, (although not everyone might feel that way) that we only ended up with about 8 inches of the white, fluffy stuff instead of the predicted 14!  Although the temperatures were in the single digits with wind chills that felt like -11 degrees, I have to say that the pristine, snow-covered ground was incredibly beautiful to look at! The way it sparkled and glittered when the sun shone on it was magnificent and made me remember what I loved about winter.
But for those of you who yearn for the warmth of the summer sun and the smell of gentle, salty ocean breezes, I have created this pretty, pastel keepsake box. It’s hand-cut and pieced beach-themed design brings back the warm days and it is just the right size to hold all the treasures that you might collect that will remind you of those summer days!
